Level 3 Courses
These courses take you deeper into study of the Bible at a level that enables you to engage with questions and issues that are important for the understanding and application of the Bible today. These courses will enable you to grow in your confidence in interpreting and applying the Bible in your own life. These courses will enable those leading small groups in local churches to have a thorough in-depth knowledge of the Christian Scriptures.

Old Testament
Genesis forms the backdrop for our understanding of God’s relationship with humanity, giving a basis not only for our understanding of God, but also our understanding of ourselves and the world we live in.
These books may not be very familiar to us, Exodus to Deuteronomy provide the basis for understanding the people of God in the Old Testament and are key not only to the Old Testament but also to many of the discussions and images in the New Testament.
This course deals with the ‘Pre-exilic Historical Books’ of the Old Testament and we hope that by the end you will have a good knowledge of the contents and teaching (theology) of these books.
This the first of two courses which deal with some of the most important prophets of the Old Testament, and we hope that by the end you will have a good knowledge of the contents and teaching (theology) of these books.
This the second of two courses which deal with some of the most important prophets of the Old Testament, and we hope that by the end you will have a good knowledge of the contents and teaching (theology) of these books. In this course we focus on Jeremiah and Ezekiel, followed by the smaller prophetical books of Haggai, Zechariah and Malachi.
This course deals with the deals with two interlinked subjects as is indicated by the title: worship and the Psalms. By the end of the module you should have a good base for understanding what ‘worship’ is, in terms of biblical teaching and Christian tradition.

This course deals with the Gospels of Mark and Matthew. It aims to provide information that will help students understand the context of Jesus’ ministry as well as the background to the stories of Jesus given in the New Testament
Welcome to the second of two courses on the Synoptic Gospels and Acts. Both courses are entitled ‘Encountering Jesus and the Kingdom’. The first course looked at the Gospels of Mark and Matthew. This course deals with the Gospel of Luke and the book of Acts.

This is the second of two courses which deal with the letters ascribed to Paul in the New Testament. We hope that by the end of the course, you will have gained a good overall knowledge of the contents and teaching of the letters to the Romans, Philippians, Philemon, Colossians, Ephesians, 1 and 2 Timothy and Titus;
Christian Studies
Like any other field of academic study, the study of theology can get very complex indeed. However, as you will very soon discover on this module, the basics of Christian theology are in fact very straightforward and can be mastered by anyone who is prepared to put in a reasonable amount of work.
The course aims to develop a simple threefold method for making ethical decisions. This method is applied to a variety of ethical issues with examples contemporary ethical dilemmas, and brief explanations of the issues involved and the most important contrasting viewpoints.
This course traces the history of the Christian Church from the resurrection to the present. The course is divided into four parts.
