This is the first of two courses which deal with the letters ascribed to Paul in the New Testament. We hope that by the end of the course, you will:
have gained a good overall knowledge of the contents and teaching of the letters to the Galatians, Thessalonians and Corinthians;
have a sound basis for further reading and application;
will feel confident that you could tackle other biblical books;
will be interested to go on to look at the other Letters of Paul.

A suggested donation per person to cover the costs for the day will be £10.
In this, the second of our Study Days, we will focus on how small group Bible study can be a place where disciples can learn to make disciples. We will look at the place of discipleship in small groups including some pitfalls of small groups for discipleship as well as some opportunities. We will also listen to some leaders from around the world who have used small groups effectively to grow disciples. Finally, we will consider how studying Jesus’ own life in small groups can help in creating a culture where disciples make disciples.
Joe Warton
Joe is a freelance coach, researcher, writer, and resource-developer. His biggest passion is helping Christians connect their faith with their everyday life (and helping churches get great at supporting them in doing that!).
Joe spent 10 years working for LICC (the London Institute for Contemporary Christianity). He conducted research into how churches can sustain a whole-life disciple-making culture, the role spiritual practices play in discipleship outcomes, the faith and life of young adults, and yes – the significance of small groups!
As well as researching and writing about small groups, he’s authored several group discussion guides, and leads the young adults’ group at his local church. He also spent seven years working as a Discipleship Pastor in two local churches in Cambridgeshire. He’s married to Bethany, and between them they have three spritely primary school-aged kids.
Dr David Ball
David Ball is Director of the GOLD Project. David has a PhD in New Testament. From 2009-2015, he was Director of Open Learning at Trinity College Bristol out of which the GOLD Project has formed. David occasionally still teaches at Trinity College as an Associate member of the Faculty.
David and Angie worked for 15 years with TAFTEE (The Association for Theological Education by Extension) in India. David has been involved in writing study materials and leading small group Bible Study for almost 30 years.
David is actively involved in the Christian Motorcyclists’ Association. David believes that the strength of the church's life and witness depends on the equipping of all God's people for mission and ministry in the world. He is committed to enabling every Christian to grow in their faith through disciplined study of the Bible.
